QUESTION #3

Finally. This is the end. My only friend, the end! Um... I dunno, none of these remaining ones appeal to me. I'll go with this one, but I dunno if I can get enough content from it. Let's find out together.

Do I have any hidden talents? Well. Hmm. Maybe I should let Charity write this one, haha yeah you know what I'm talking about. Nudge nudge! That's crass, I apologize.

But speaking of which, the last time I mentioned writing about the wedding, she offered to make a special blog guest cameo appearance and write about it herself. She'd be the person to hear from, since she's doing 99% of the planning. And she loves to talk about it. Every day. ALL DAY.

But then I figured it out. She could write the best Jakeycakes posting of all time, and I'd get no credit because I didn't write it myself! BOGUS. So nuts to that, says I. I will not be duped by some crazed loophole in the blog grading process.

So where was I? Ah yes. Hidden talents. Ummmm. I can think of some things, but I don't know if they really count as "talents". For instance, if I lean on my left leg a certain way, my knee makes a horrid popping sound as if my thigh bone is grinding right against my shin bone. But that's not talent, it's just from years of abuse that my poor knees have taken. It freaks people out but good, though.

Here's one. I have the kind of memory that allows me to remember things as if I had just seen it mere moments ago. I know there's a specific term for that kind of memory, but... I forget what it is. Haha. Oh, the irony.

Nah, I remember. I also remember the first time that I was able to use it in a way that showed it was a unique type of thing. I was like 10 or 11 and my mom was practically tearing apart her office at our house because she was looking for this piece of paper. About a week and a half earlier, the paper had been on her desk and I'd seen it. And she needed a phone number from it that was of the outmost importance.

So I just closed my eyes and I could see the paper in my head, and I recited the number off of it. And she was like "...". Then she called and it was the right number.

You'd think that this would have helped me in school at some point, but it never really has. I don't know if I choke under the pressure or something like that, but it's never helped me to remember what the textbook said so I can get the answer right on a test and that sort of thing.

Mainly, I just remember stupid stuff that I'll never really need to know. Like sports statistics, pro wrestling title histories, song lyrics, stuff like that. I can read a page or two of text that's full of various and differing bits of info, and then tell you what it said pretty accurately. As if you'd care to know.

If a song is easy to understand, I can usually remember the words after hearing it sometimes just once. If it's harder to tell what they're saying, like a rap or something, it may take 2 or 3 times. I've still got songs in my head that I probably haven't heard in 10 years or so.

To wit:

At the playground
That's where I saw this cutie
This girl was swingin'
And she looked so fly

On the monkey bars
We climbed up to the top and
She touched my hand
That's when I fell in love

IESHA
You are the girl that I never had
And I want to get to know you better

IESHA
You know I want you so bad
And there's nothing anyone can do
To keep me away from you

Seriously, when's the last time anyone heard Iesha by Another Bad Creation? Playground? Okay, maybe. But Iesha? Come on. That's unnatural to remember that. I'm frightened. I need to lay down.

You know, to bring up a previous topic, it dawns on me that "Iesha" is a rare three syllable name in a song. But it still doesn't work, you can't fit Charity into that. Ah well.

I think that's 700 words. Yep it is. TIME TO GO, BYE.
