2004-03-17 - 10:33 p.m. STUFF I have some exciting topics to update you on. First, I saw WrestleMania as promised. It was good! I wonder, in the future when I'm thinking back to what I recall about each show, if I'll be like "for WMXX I updated my blog and talked about WrestleManias". That would be silly. You might also recall a few weeks ago when I posted an update about shaving. Well! In recent days I went out and got... are you ready for this... a Gillette... *MACH 3*... **TURBO**... ***CHAMPION***!!! How ya like me now! It's RED and BLACK and SLEEK and AERODYNAMIC! It also didn't shave me very well. But I blame that on what I put on my face. I've been using Edge gel for a while, and I got Charity hooked on it too. Only she uses the kind for sensitive skin because her legs get all dry and itchy if she shaves with just soap or regular shaving cream or something. My face, while not long nor toned nor creamy tan like her legs, is likewise very sensitive. And since I was upgrading to three yes THREE blades, I thought maybe I'd use the sensitive skin gel myself for my first shave. The Edge gel can is misleading though because it gives you the impression that the sensitive skin gel is purple, unlike the standard green gel. But actually it was just kinda white. And it wasn't really shaving cream, it was like some sort of lotion. So when I shaved, the blades kept getting full of gunk and all whatnot, and it wasn't able to properly cut the hair that grows from my face. I kept having to wipe the blades off before it'd work. In the future I'll just stick to the green gel. Anyway. I haven't updated my work/relative story in a while, as there's been nothing new to report. But that all changed today. When we last left off, I had heard nothing from them since the first week of February when they indicated that they weren't sure if they could pay me at all. Then I got a $50 check in the mail, even though we'd agreed to $100, and my work continued even though no one told me anything. Then I sent them a $100 bill at the beginning of the month. As of yesterday I had heard nothing from them, but I was being patient because I recalled someone saying once that they sometimes wait until after the 15 of the month to make purchases and pay bills and that sort of thing. But the 15th was Monday. So last night I cut a big promo, as they say, swearing to Charity that if I didn't hear anything by Thursday I was going to take the day off and drive there and kick in the door like a gunfighter in the old west. And, oh yes, I would crack some skulls if those punks started static. But lo and behold, today I got a check from them in the mail. For $100!!!! Finally this national nightmare has ended. Although I was somewhat looking forward to going there and killing some people. Oh well. They STILL haven't spoken to me since that talk in February, but at least I got my hat back. And my check. Speaking of jobs, I applied for this bartender job yesterday. I dunno why. It's at a country club and I was nearby and it said no experience needed, so I was like "why not?" and I filled out a form. Being a bartender would be kinda neat. Especially at a country club where the rich drunk golfers might give me a $20 for a $4 drink and tell me to keep the change. But I see no reason why my application would get picked ahead of anyone else's, and I wouldn't be able to take the job anyway unless it started like tomorrow. I'm just curious to see if they call me back. I think that's all I have to say. Toodles!
