2004-02-04 - 11:21 a.m. I'M STOKED Boy, am I stoked! I was watching these DVD's I got for Christmas of a certain college football team and their magical turnaround from the worst program in sports, right on the verge of losing Division 1 status and their spot in the Big 8, to becoming a pretty good team. Sadly, the DVD only covers up to the 2002 season, and 2003 might very well have been their best season ever. And I thought to myself, I thought "man alive, I'd really like to have a copy of that game where this team defeated the unbeaten unstoppable by god #1 team in the country in the conference championship". But where are you supposed to find such a thing? ABC Sports doesn't sell copies of their telecasts that I know of. I could try looking to download it off the internet somewhere, but you don't see a lot of people sharing football games. I didn't know what to do. Then I says to a friend of mine, I says "where can I get a copy of that game?". And he's all "look on eBay". Oh, eBay! You friendly internet auction site sent from Heaven up above! So I looked and, sure enough, a guy was selling the tape for a measly 8 bucks. And I bought it! What a glorious day. I'm also pretty happy about all this snow. I love snow. Especially snow days! I spent my entire Monday just lounging about with my lady, whom, if I may set the record straight, I luuuuuvvv very very much. LOVE. Apparently in a previous posting I admitted only to liking her, which prompted some readers of this lovely purple diary (mainly her) to tease me in a good natured way about how I have issues with admitting my feelings in public. Well, nuts to that! Where was I? Ah yes, snow. But do you know what irks me about our university's policy of closing school? Without fail, it always says "classes will resume tomorrow". Why do they say that? Why do they take away the possibility, slight though it may be, that maybe we'll get two days in a row? Let me at least have some glimmer of hope. All this snow is getting out of hand, though. We're supposed to get 8 inches today. You know who really loves the snow? My dog. He's pretty wacky. He'll roll around and dig in it, with this look on his face like "Wheeeeeeee!!!". Yesterday I swear he did a somersault. What am I NOT stoked about, you ask? Only 5 points for an extra update? Come ON! I guess maybe if I write a novel and post it here in spurts, I could guarantee myself at least a C. Before I go, I'd like to thank my close, personal, long-time friend BoogityX2 for giving my purple diary a nice hard plug. He's good people. And AND thanks to the lovely and talented RubyTrax for leaving me a note on my... note posting area? I didn't even know I had such a thing. BYE
